Alternative Heros - Game Design

This was a game design project in university done in cooperation with Lucas Roßmann, Benjamin Castellanos and Susanne Schlögl. The project covered every aspect from brainstorming an idea to the user experience and finally to a prototype to showcase our design. It was a requirement to create a game that bears some kind of social or ecological benefit.

Our concept was a pixel art infinite jump-and-run game whereby the characters eventually run out of energy. Along the way, they can pick up garbage, which can be turned into coins by recycling in the player's base. The players could use the money to acquire upgrades or boosts for themselves or their base, enabling them to reach further distances and recycle more garbage.

Artistically, my responsibility was the creation of 2D pixel art assets, such as a garbage dump or an incineration.
